Burberry has unveiled its new ad campaign for Autumn/Winter 2012, starring British actress and model Gabriella Wilde and musician Roo Panes.

Evoking that broody film noir quality, the images are shot in black and white, using the streets of London as backdrop in true Brit style, and complete with the rain and fog for that emotive, cinematic mood. The whole effect is sombre-meets-sexy and so quintessentially British.

Like previous Burberry ads, the series was shot by Mario Testino with the creative direction of Burberry's Christopher Bailey. "We wanted to play with everything that's at the heart of the Burberry world -- celebrating our brand and London through imagery, film, music, weather and our iconic outerwear, all in a very poetic and British way," Bailey explains.
