The beauty of the faux bob is that you get to try out a fresh new hairstyle without the major commitment of snipping your length. Plus, it takes just 5 minutes to achieve the look. Faking it is super easy. Here's how:
How to create a faux bob:
- Add texture. The faux bob looks most natural when it's texturized for an undone feel. Add texture to hair by working in a volumizing mousse then randomly curl large sections of hair with a curling iron.
- Make a loose ponytail. Leaving a few face-framing pieces out, pull the rest back into a loose ponytail at the nape of your neck. Secure with a snag-free elastic, then slide the elastic down a couple of inches away from your scalp.
- Roll it up. Tuck the tail and the elastic under the rest of your hair at the nape of your neck, then secure with bobby pins.
- Shape out. Spread hair evenly to create the shape of a rounded bob, then mist with hairspray for extra hold.
