Professional Brow Shaping Methods
3. Threading
An ancient craft that originated from Asia, threading is fast becoming recognized as one of the preferred ways to remove unwanted hairs.
Process: The aesthetician loops and twirls a strand of cotton thread a couple of times, then applies light pressure to pull along a row of unwanted hair (as opposed to a single hair in tweezing). The thread acts like a mini-lasso and removes the hairs directly from the root.
Ouch Factor: Similar to tweezing. Since threading targets the individual hairs without removing the top layer of the skin, irritation is minimized. Slight redness may appear after threading, which usually subsides within an hour.
How Long It Lasts: Two to eight weeks.
Other Considerations: It is quick, relatively painless and more precise, and doesn't irritate the skin like waxing does.
