Creamy shades of soft beige, pale pink and milky white that mimic the look of the natural nail were seen at many Spring's fashion shows, including 3.1 Phillip Lim and Monique Lhuillier.

But nude polish is optional if you're after a truly au-naturel look: Just follow the lead of Balmain's manicurist Anny Errandonea, who skipped the polish altogether and instead painted buffed nails with a single coat of clear, matte top coat.

After seasons of bold colors and dark polishes, the emphasis on minimalist, neutral manicure is a welcome change.
