Bold brows are back in a big way -- just check out Spring's runways. From Derek Lam to Proenza Schouler, this season's extra-full arches are boyish yet shapely (or "architectural" as Derek Lam's makeup artist Tom Pecheux described.) If you need another reason to embrace the strong brow trend, fuller arches frame the face in a way that lends a youthful look. Here's the basics to pulling off strong brows:
Shape your brows
Just because you're rocking strong brows doesn't mean your tweezers get to retire. Grooming is still required, otherwise they just end up looking untidy. Brush the hairs straight up with a brow brush and trim the extra-long ends. Then tweeze away any strays.
Opt for an arch
Full brows look feminine and more polished when you give them a peaked shape. This also helps open up your eyes.
Go one shade lighter
The high-impact arches call for a subtler shade of brow powder or soft waxy pencil. Pick one that's a shade lighter than you normally use and fill sparse areas to frame and define your face.
