I am having braces now and my orthodontist is from aesthetic at park mall. she is a Specialist and u can trust her as she got years of experience. She teaches NUS on dentist too. And it's quite convenient as it's in town and u can go town once a month to shop after tightening. Haha! she charged me 5000++ near 6000. I had ceramic on my upper teeth and metal below..so when i smile people can't really see my braces. Oh ya.. She don't do extraction. So i find another specialist at near amara hotel.. St andrew's dental group located In a shopping center for extraction of 2wisdom and 2 pre-molar at 2000++ i think, including anesthesia cuz i am afraid of seeing the whole extraction process.. The service is good and i only feel the pain after first putting the braces on when i accidentally bite my teeth together too hard. But just for 3 days only and u will feel better after that. And now i m used to my braces though i have it on for less than 5mths. (:
i read an article about having braces behind the teeth will caused tongue ulcer! I rather have ulcer on my cheeks. Haa. Btw...i didn't have alot of ulcers on my cheeks like what my friends have. I don't think putting braces on will have alot of ulcers as long as u don't use ur tongue to keep playing with ur braces or clean ur food.
I think going jb to have ur braces on is not feasible at all. Firstly, u can't trust on their hygiene standard. Secondly, the braces apparatus may not be of good quality. Finally, it is inconvenient to travel all e way to jb every mth to tighten ur braces. And what if u have an emergency case when ur apparatus broke and u have to get it fixed asap? i don't think it will be worth it in the long run. (:
