it's not about dream jobs now.just send out dozens and hundreds of resumes and just go for interviews.Take your pick from those who are interested after the interviews.

what is marcom by the way?

not easy to do a career switch now that the economy is so bad. its the employers' market these days. if u more or less want to work as the same position but different company then its easier. but to totally change to do something u havent done b4, its quite difficult. like i told u b4, u may need to start from the bottom, either that or they want someone wif experience. even if they train u, they'll need an assurance that you won't leave after they train u, so its kinda difficult.

so u don't wanna b a wedding planner anymore?

Wedding planner is interesting! I am doing freelance photography and have done a few weddings. Everyone is so cheerful! And if its planned properly, its super!

Anyway, you should get a job before you resign. The advice is there for good reasons. No point being jobless. I always thought marcom was quite fun. Oh well.

Alternatively, just continue with the current job and then in your free time do the weddingplanner thing as a side job....until it earns enough to become full time!
