to sum it all up..
actually singaporeans can excel like all other countries..
given the fact that singapore hosted first Youth Olympic 2010, sending national athletes to take part and compete in Winter Sports (but i think they didn't qualify for the final selection round), and even world rock climbing competition (for more exposure) hosting Formula 1, bring local F2/Go-Kart Race Track (upgradable to F1 scale in future)..
public transport system is duplicated in Taiwan and many other countries which I forgotten liao..LKY and other senior ministers are invited to overseas to help different nations develop and grow their countries, as well as integrating multi-racial religion society, proper governance (low corruption) plus property, land development taught in LKY School.
it is a fact that Singapore got the ability and talents to excel, just that there are seriously lack in such areas to locally groom such talents, as singapore is still much dependent on imports, so we have to focus on financial growth of nation before all other talents can have room for growth.
can't be blamed..need to take care of basic needs like bring bread back home first..

Singapore's way too small to find many talented people in the first place.. And yes the society only encourages young people to excel in their studies, with little emphasis on grooming talents.. Also, most teens here are kinda lazy and not motivated (including me haha), so they will take the easier way out..

hmm i have nvr heard of them too..but i guess some examples of singaporean singers who have developed well in taiwan and china are JJ lin, Ah du,stef, kit chan, tanya chua etc. quite a number right? and Olivia Ong has also scored high points in taiwan talent shows. as for acting skills, fann wong and lin xiang ping has been known for collaborating with many china dramas.
