I'm a Kose and SK-II user. I alternate between them every 4 months.

For Kose, I now use their new Beaute de Kose range, which will replace their Rutina range by end this year. I supplement this with Junkisui, Sekkisei Lotion and Sekkisei Emulsion. Basically I have 5 products from the Cleansing Cream (makeup remover), Washing Cream (cleanser), Toning Lotion (toner), Hydrating Lotion (hydrating treatment) & Double Action Moisturiser (moisturizing fluid).

I use the Washing Cream, Toner, Sekkisei Lotion and Double Action Moisturiser in the morning. In the evening, I use the Cleansing Cream, Washing Cream, Junkisui, Sekkisei Lotion and Sekkisei Emulsion.

This regime was suggested to me by the Kose consultant and suits me perfectly and I use their Sekkisei masque for 5 consecutive days every month to keep my skin clear and more evenly toned. The masque is a definite saver and costs only S$5 per piece (5 in a box).

Saying this, Kose IS perfumed but I'm also adding that I ahve sensitive skin and Sekkisei and Junkisui has definitely helped to calm my skin and is now more resilient to factors like temperature changes and sun.

SK-II on the other hand is fragrance-free and color-free. I use the same sequence for SK-II - Facial Cleansing Gel (makeup remover), Facial Treatment Cleanser (cleanser), Facial Clear Lotion (toner), Facial Treatment Essence (optimising treatment lotion), Facial Clear Solution (oil-free day moisturiser), Signs Treatment (night cream) and Whitening Source (whitening).

My usage sequence is the same as Kose but both product ranges are effective for different needs. Personally I would choose Kose for affordability and for the maintenance of good skin and would recommend SK-II if you're looking for fast results and can afford it.

The main reason why I switch brands every 4 months is because the skin can get used to certain ingredients/products in 3-4 months and these 2 brands are my mainstays since I was in school and have worked well for me. Also, that way, I can afford SK-II - haha!

I hope that helped and would be happy to share more if you need to know more about the products. I'm a skincare junkie and have probably tried most of what the market has to offer.

I have used the Seikisho (if that's the cleansing soap you bought) and found it was a little too drying for me. But I bet if it works well for you, you'll be on your way to perfectly luminous, translucent and healthy skin.

Junkisui is used to detoxify and purify the skin. Kose claims it it works with a massage which the Kose consultant (if she's good/professional) will teach you. Basically the massage focuses on areas like below the jaw and around the temples, supposedly where some our lymph nodes are. By massaging and using Junkisui along with it, it will slowly help detox the complexion.

Sekkisei on the other hand is used to calm, soothe and moisturise the face. It also has whitening properties to even out skin tone. As it is also medicated with herbs, it prevents inflammation and for me, reduces my breakouts.

Pearl: Kose counters (as far as I remember) can be found at -

Takashimaya, Isetan Scotts, Metro Paragon, Robinsons Centrepoint & Raffles City, Isetan Tampines Mall, Isetan Parkway and Metro Causeway Point.

As I don't usually shop away from town and stay in the east, I really am not sure where the other outlets are. Sorry!
