hi! it may be a bit late, but when i ran a search on google for joy doggy, this post turned up. oh man!! how i wished i saw this 1st b4 patronizing joy doggy.
i would like to add on to the testimony of unreputable pet shops. in dec 2005, i got a corgi from joy doggy after weeks of persistent searching everywhere in s'pore. i did notice that the corgi looked pretty lethargic when we bought it from the shop. however, being novices and 1st time pet owners, we did not know wat to look out for. after consulting the shop owners upon this issue of lethargy, they assured us that it was becos of the stress of living in the small quarters in the pet shop. well, i shall not go into the details of the whole transaction. but the gist of it was, we paid for the dog, but we decided to bring it to the vet for a check up on the same day for greater reassurance. in the end, we found out that the dog was infected with a lice called demodex. it is a long term disease and it is due to a dog's poor immune system. so well... we went back the next day and luckily for us, they allowed us to exchange for another corgi. but up til now, we are still waiting and this issue is hanging in mid air. so worried that they'll just forget abt it or deny or smth as more time passes. the dog costed us more than $1k! n that was since dec. til now, we still dun get to enjoy the happiness of owning a dog... sighz...
so dog lovers out there, beware!!
and i have seen the way they handle the dogs sent there for grooming. it's definitely not the way i wan my own dog to be treated! so, it's really up to individuals to make their own choice now.
