my sis did that..
she ROM at the hotel room before the wedding dinner
not very sure abt the cost..
but for ROM..think u've to pay like extra to get the person to come down
my indian GF did that too..
it's good in the sense that u can cut the meal/tea for the post ROM thing..
also, u only need the photographer/make-up/gowns all in juz 1 day..

the procedures are the same (both efiling), only difference is you have an additional step as you need to confirm with the solemnisor first. as for additional cost...you just have to reimburse the solemnisor for transport fee that's all. how much to pay is entirely up to you, for me i paid $100 which is a bit on the high side.

The solemnisor can go to your hse too. I just gave a token (gift) to him that time (7 yrs ago) cos i heard fm friends they dont accept monetary. But just read fm cecilia above post she gave $100 so i think rules have changed so $ or gifts should be ok.

Mine was David Loh (9XXXXXXX - edited away), very experienced and helpful, with the exception that his spoken English is not too good (fluent though).
But heard from another friend that he has retired?

you can get the names and number of the solemnisor from ROM website. some of them request that you meet them face-to-face for signing the form. others may just request to fax over.
Maybe you want to opt for grassroot leaders. Go to the CC they help out in, see their faces/talk to the staff there and see if you want to engage them.
