Dear wasabi, IPL works best for acne scars which are dark pigments. If it is pitted, then diamond peel plus ipl works very well. I came across an interesting website on ipl, check iplhairremovalspecialists.blogspot.com.

So many names and so many machines - it can be confusing on what treatment to go for.
Here's a quick guide to all the laser treatments:
1. Resurfacing Lasers
Traditionally, ablative or peeling laser tratments, which use a high temperature to vaporise unwanted tissue, more damage more healthy tissue than necessary, causing side effects like bleedling and rawness. New lasers now may or may not remove the top layers of skin and they are more targeted and less invasive, causing less tissue damage. But, more sessions will be necessary to achieve results.
2. Skin Brighteners
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) machines and non-ablative lasers work on skin tone, clearing broken veins or capillaries, and pigmentation like sun spots and freckles. They can also smoothen uneven skin and reduce enlarged pores.
3. Skin Firmers
Thermal treatments use heat, usually radiofrequency (RF) or infrared (IR) to penetrate deeper into skin layers. These treatments cause controlled damage to the skin, stimulating the skin's healing response which slows down with age. As the skin is stimulated to make more collagen, it becomes tighter and plumper.
Hope it helps! Some treatments can be combined to create your desired results.

I tried IPL and it don't work on me. No improvement at all. RF are more for mature skin that needs firming. I personal find laser treatment works better. Bear in mind the cost and follow on maintenance, otherwise its a waste of money.

I have tried IPL and it helps to tighten my pores, lighten my freckles and my overall complexion is brighter.
My gf has tried the RF eye treatment and it lightens her dark circles. She signed up the package immediately. I am going to use 1 session of her package to try to treat my dark circles and fine lines some time next week. Keep you posted of my progress.
The place i went to is quite reputable.

Just to share my experience on my RF eye treatment -oh very veryvery gd. Even though i am a die-hard fan of ipl but the eye treatement really lighten my dark circle instantly.
I didnt sign up after the first trail (got one session fr my gf to try) cos i want to see how long it will last. As i sleep very late due to my work schedule - it does "control" from getting dark so fast.
Me going for next session this sat and going to sign up now. The place i goes to currently has a promotion running.

I just did my Underarms IPL at Toa Payoh. Its almost painless.. i use to do waxing.. but its super troublesome.. need to wax at least once a month.. i'm quite hairy.. so i guess IPL is best for me.. now my hair is getting finer by the sessions.. its cheap la.. damn cheap.. i checked out other places like taka and paragon.. so damn expensive.. dunno if u r paying for their advertisments or their service..
see this facebook link:

very cheap.. i got the Underarm and ARMS package.. they only charge me $400 for both.. the beauty consultants there are very friendly and gentle.. i also like their very hip interior design.. its cosy and comfortable.. not like those intimidating big beauty francises..

I've just went for an ultrasonic eye treatment for my dark circles, and it is very comfortable and instantly brighten my eye areas. I wonder if RF is better though...the beauty centre has RF eye treatment as well at the same price.

I'm not sure about radio frequency. But my mom went for IPL in singapore clinic once, it don't really works. Second time she went to a clinic at penang. it's only $400+ and works so much better!
