the vpost thread seemed to have (temp?) disappeared?
basically, this thread is for us to update our vpost sharing progress, chio biz for our accounts and such. so, instead of posting in spree chat thread, come here instead. sharers are to ownself come here to check for updates. potential sharers can also shop around for which vpost account to best hop on.
will write up some pointers and sls norms when i have time.
for now,
- dun just hop on anyone's account hor, make sure the account holder is honest sort, vpost savvy, does things according to sls norms and will have time to monitor progress regularly. u dun wanna ur shipment to end up paying more cos ur blur account holder takes in several packages from same merchant (ie. incur gst), underdeclare number of sharers, overdeclare charges, forget to make payment in time so kenna holding fees etc etc right?
- actually, the safest way to ensure no cheating and on time action is to lombang on accounts that at least one regular oldbie is able to login to that account and help monitor eg. when the actual account holder is busy or something. i believe among some of us, we are already doing that.
- those requesting to share, dun just say "me ordering from X site" but must give estimated max invoice value as well. this is to help account holder decide on the spot whether a particular order is suited sharer candidate or not.
- if ur nick n order is already up on sharing list and should u later decide not to share, have the courtesy to holler here asap so list can be kept accurate.
- account holder or whoever helping to monitor account, please keep me (olaf) updated as and when there's progress so i can in turn keep post 2 data updated and accurate!

email to invusa@vpost.com.sg
title put something like "VPblahblah invoice for merchantblahblah - boxblahblah".
make sure merchant name given tallies with "items received" info, invoice shows amount summary. if invoice not clear regarding amount and contents, can also state explicitly for vpost's easy reference.
sign off using vpost name n id.

vpost : Q5. Other than reduced rates, are there other changes?
A. There is a change to how Customs GST is computed.
Customs GST of 7% is applicable for each individual item with a VS shipment number imported into
Singapore, where the CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) exceeds S$400. Please click here for an
example of the Customs GST computation for vPOSTUSA service.
Separate purchases from the same merchant will not be counted towards the $400 amount limit which
attracts GST, based on each individual order.

update : effective 1mar2011, fuel charge up by S$0.20.

UPDATE : effective nov 2011, with the death of invoice forwarding system, we no longer can prolong foc parking via invoice withholding method.

7.16 Re-packing
For vPOSTUSA :
(a) We may, at Our sole discretion, re-pack the Items before Shipment from the vPOSTUSA address to Your local mailing/delivery address if we consider the Items suitable for re-packing, so as to reduce the total shipping charges applicable to such Items.
(b) In the event of such re-packing, You shall pay Us a re-packing fee of S$12 for each package re-packed.
(c) You agree and acknowledge that any such re-packing of Items may render the return, refund or exchange (or any other similar) policy of the Merchant for an Item invalid, void or cancelled; and We shall not be liable to You for any loss, damage or liability which may be suffered or incurred by You as a result thereof.

noangel vpost PROBLEM!
so i have generated invoice n got a shock when amount is not over S$40 (so can use uob code). by my calculation, the added weights just make it mah...13.24 + 9.16*3.2 > S$40.
look at the advice...base charge only S$12.40??? weight charge also lesser than S$9.16 per kg! i see a note which says "no gst has been charged"...how come suddenly like dat?

my goodness, effective 28oct, vpost charges lowererd to 12.40 + 8.60 per kg!
how ah gals? cannot use discount code leh. granted with lowered charges, its now actually cheaper than old rates at 20% off.
0.8 (13.24 + 9.16*.32) = 42.55
vs
12.40 + 8.6*3.2 = 39.92
so, i just go ahead with payment right?
note to self : i better check for ping's ON too....ok 4.9 kg confirm > S$40

2. PAYMENT
2.1 You shall promptly confirm and pay any vPOSTUSA, vPOSTJAPAN or vPOSTEUROPE charges by the stipulated schedule as specified by SingPost which includes but not limited to the following components:

(d) Penalty fee of S$10 (Singapore Dollars Ten) per week or part thereof per Item, should Your invoice not be received by SingPost for more than fourteen (14) days from the date it arrived at the vPOSTUSA, vPOSTJAPAN or vPOSTEUROPE address;
BAD NEWS! gst computation also changed! no longer the kind C + 0.02 thingy.
its now simply C + I + F;
meaning invoice value + insurance (if we choose to buy) + vpost = CIF
hope none of the 25% batch orders kenna gst cos of this change! gals, quickly check!

i also dun know wat happened. i am 100% sure i did not accidentally deleted the thread. luckily, i was on more than one sls window and noticed the disappearance so i could retrieve data. anyway, see the link i post up there in post 1? it still brings us to old thread.
how come no one commented on the HUGE changes to vpost i mentioned? i thot this thread will be flooded by the time i wake up!
just to confirm, there is no vpost code dat can be used on <S$40 payment right? urgently need answer!
