Sex needs a little novelty every now and then. Otherwise, it'll just become a tad too... predictable. And predictability is a notorious passion-killer.

"If you always make love exactly the same way, at the same time, and in the same place, the routine can become boring," explains Dr. Ruth Westheimer, sex therapist and author of Sex For Dummies. The good news is, it's never too late to spice up your bedroom repertoire and let the thrill of sex soar to new heights. Here are some simple, sexy ideas to add to your to-do list:

1. Try a different sexual position

You don't need to have the flexibility of a Yoga pro to get experimental with different sex positions. Try doggy position, woman-on-top or reverse cowgirl (that's you on top, facing his feet), or do it standing up against a door. Even if you're a fan of the classic missionary, you can give it a whole new twist with some minor adjustments -- try placing a pillow under your rear to increase clitoral stimulation, or lift and prop your legs on his shoulders for a deeper penetration.

2. Make love at a different time

Do you always schedule sex in the evening? Try getting it on at a different time of the day, such as early in the morning or in the middle of the afternoon.

3. Have sex somewhere different

Take it outside the bedroom by exploring new nooky locations within the house. Try initiating sexual encounters in the kitchen, in the shower, or on the dining room table.

4. Tease each other

Engage in frisky foreplay before you leave for work. But stop just short of sex. It takes a lot of control, but you'd be thinking about each other non-stop all day. And it makes sex hotter when you finally get down to it in the evening.

5. Change the pace

Try quickie sex when you usually take your time with lots of foreplay. It might be over in the blink of an eye, but the rush of pleasure can keep you glowing all day long.

6. Recruit sex accessories

Introducing a new sex accessory is an instant way to spice things up. Try lubes (silicone ones are good because they don't destroy latex condoms), vibrators and penis rings with attached vibrator. 7. Take turns taking charge
