Little things you can do to make your baby happier and healthier.
Third Trimester
(Weeks 29-40)
Get off the bed and stay active. Avoid lying down for prolonged periods in late pregnancy as the weight of the baby in the uterus would press on a major blood vessel and interfere with blood flow. If you're experiencing a normal pregnancy, do engage in light exercises, which help alleviate symptoms like leg cramps and backaches. And limit your routine to light to moderate exercises well within the comfort zone.
Listen to slow music. From as early as 5 months, babies in the womb can hear external sounds. Research shows that music with slow rhythms, such as classical music, has a calming effect on babies. So plug in!
Give yourself a tummy rub. Gently massaging your bump with moisturizing oils not only helps prevent stretchmarks, it soothes your baby at the same time.
Get Daddy to read stories. By the last month, your baby can recognize Daddy's voice too, so get your hubby to read short stories to your tummy!
