6. Go for your Pap tests on a regular basis

A Pap smear can effectively detect cervical cancer early, even before symptoms are present. Talk with your doctor about how often you should have a Pap test. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends sexually active women below 30 to have a Pap test every year, since they have a higher likelihood than older women of acquiring high-risk types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) that may cause precancerous cervical changes. Women aged 30 and older with three consecutive normal Pap tests can go for a Pap smear once every two to three years. Even if you're not currently engaging in any sexual activity, but has had intercourse before, you should continue getting your Pap test performed on a regular basis.

7. Brush and floss your teeth everyday

We know, flossing can be a chore. But studies show that good oral hygiene has its hidden health perks. Cleaning between your teeth helps get rid of the gum disease-causing bacteria, which has been linked to an increased susceptibility to a plethora of other health problems, including heart disease, stroke, pancreatic cancer, and premature births. It's important to invest in a good toothbrush with soft bristles, so you can clean those hard-to-reach areas between the teeth. And floss daily to clean out the plague and food particles your brush can't reach.
