Stir-Fried Black Pepper Beef with Cabbage

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • pound ground beef
  • head cabbage, shredded
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • cup beef broth


  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, and add oil. Saute garlic for about 5 seconds, then add ground beef. Stir-fry until beef is browned. Stir in cabbage and bell pepper, and cook until vegetables are tender, and beef is cooked through. Add soy sauce and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together cornstarch and beef broth. Stir in cornstarch mixture. Cook, stirring, until sauce has thickened.
