Eczema

Stop that itch!
Symptoms of Eczema
If you are bothered by one or more of the following symptoms, it is likely to be eczema:
  • A recurring itchy, red rash
  • Dry, patchy or scaly areas on the skin
  • Sensitive, dry skin
Age vs. Symptoms
In infants and young children, eczema usually appears on the face, elbows or knees, and other areas.
In older children and adults, eczema appears less often on the face and more commonly on the hands, neck, inner elbows and backs of the knees and ankles.

What Causes Eczema?
Eczema tends to run in families with a history of asthma or hay fever (allergic rhinitis). Outbreaks or flare-ups of eczema can be triggered by a variety of factors: heat, sweating, exercise, woollen clothings, grass intolerance and even emotional stress.
