 | | 4 / 7 4. Opting for (very) unnecessary plastic surgery
Let's not condemn plastic surgery per se because it can be a confidence booster for some who feel self-conscious about a certain flaw. What's crazy, however, is when a woman goes out to alter her whole face or body. (Hello, Heidi!) Sometimes to weird proportions like a trout pout or massive boobs.
Why it's not worth it:
Infection is a very real risk in all kinds of surgery, and sometimes complications can arise. Surgeons are also wary of patients who request multiple procedures: A classic sign of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) whereby a person is obsessed with perceived flaws, the root of the problem is psychological, not physical.
