Mole Facts

• The average adult has approximately 20 moles on the body.
• If you notice any changes in the shape, size, and/ or color of a mole, or if a mole starts to bleed, seek advice from a doctor immediately. These may indicate melanoma - a form of skin cancer.
• Studies show that flat moles are more prone to giving rise to melanoma than raised ones, while moles with hair are considered to be the least likely to mutate.
