Easy ways to cut the fat (but not the flavor) from your family's meals.
5. Remove oil layers
When brewing soup or cooking curries, use a large spoon to skim the layer of oil off the soup as it simmers. Left-over stews and soups can be refrigerated such that the oily layer solidifies. The fat may then be easily removed from the surface.
6. Non-stick pans
Invest in good quality non-stick cooking ware that require little or no oil for cooking. They're more costly, but they're well-worth the money.
