Treating Folliculitis
Treatment may not be needed, as mild folliculitis usually clears up on its own. Oral or topical anti-pruritics (anti-itch medications) may provide relief of any skin discomfort.
Cleanse the infected area thoroughly with soap and water. Apply antibiotic ointment on the skin rash. See a doctor for oral antibiotics prescription if the symptoms do not go away. Do not scratch the pustules.
